Treffer: Frequency Diverse Array Radar Application for Drone Detection.
Weitere Informationen
Growing use of small drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is resulting in increasingly vulnerable security scenarios. Given the serious threat that multi-rotor drones pose, it is becoming more and more important to detect and identify them. Research on systems that can effectively detect and identify drones is therefore crucial. The novel array processing method known as the frequency diversity array (FDA) offers the special advantage of range dependent beam forming. However, there has not been any research done on the possible utilization of FDA waveforms to enhance the drone radar cross-section (RCS) and facilitate detection. This analysis focuses on the rotor-based drones, response to FDA radar. As a highlight, a novel method for RCS enhancement and detection of drone propellers is provided in conjunction with a thorough examination of the propeller radar cross-section (RCS). The usage of target resonant frequency to design diverse frequency set in order to improve RCS is suggested. Additionally, the optimum processing architecture for this use case is also provided.
