AbstractThis mixed methods study explored accessibility and inclusion in field trip-based environmental learning programming among 80 staff members from 69 organizations across the United States. Quantitative survey results indicated that over 85% of organizations offered programs perceived as accessible to students with disabilities, though the degree of accessibility varied widely. Qualitative data revealed a spectrum of inclusive practices, ranging from minimal accommodations to fully integrated approaches. The findings underscore three key themes: 1) the persistence of ableist frameworks within environmental education, 2) the influence of federal education policies on improving accessibility practices, and 3) the importance of comprehensive organizational commitment to fostering sustainable, inclusive change within environmental learning organizations.
