The article focuses on the Bureau of International Commerce of the U.S. Department of Commerce's report on EDP markets in France, Sweden and Italy, in connection with the Departments Global Marketing Program for EDP. The French EDP market is growing at an annual rate of 20 percent. It is therefore expected to rise from its 1969 level of $387 million, when the value of all French EDP installations was estimated at $1,8 billion, to $900 million by the end of 1974. French EDP imports are also expected to grow from about $85 million in 1969 $30 million from the U.S. to $264 million in 1974. Swedish purchases of $54 million of EDP equipment in 1969 will reach $112 million by 1973. U.S. makers of computer terminals and peripherals now hold about 80 percent of the Italian market for their equipment. Products with the highest sales potential in Sweden include: small and medium scale computers, data transmission equipment, CRT terminals, computerized typesetting systems, and disk memories.
