This article discusses the author's view on a debate about the pros and cons of static versus dynamic typing. The author favor dynamically typed languages such as Lisp, Perl, and Python, because his own coding efforts tend to focus on application prototyping, content wrangling, data analysis, and system automation. One driver of the trend is the AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) juggernaut. Macromedia's ActionScript dialect has evolved in the direction of ECMAScript Edition 4 to meet the needs of Java-oriented enterprise developers. It was found that Macromedia's platform Flex Builder 2, the Flex Integrated Drive Electronics that is reconstituted as an Eclipse plug-in, to support interactive statement completion.
