Treffer: Service, Please!

The article reports that Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Chief Technology Officer Ray Ozzie have declared through a pair of e-mails that software is a service. The development method which finally made Gates and Ozzie see the error of their ways is Ajax, for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. Ajax allows the creation of a new wave of interactive Web services that can update certain parts of an application as required, rather than replacing a whole application every time a modification has to be made. It is ironical that it was Microsoft which created Ajax.
