In many areas of work software applications are required, which are running both as an installed desktop application and in a standard browser. For simple tasks with little business logic this requirement can be fulfilled with so-called "Single-Page Applications" (SPA). The implementation of complex business logic in JavaScript respectively TypeScript is not very efficient and very maintenance-unfriendly. This paper describes the architecture and key implementation aspects of a new kind of software applications: Combined Browser-Desktop Applications without any twice-coding (BDA). In such an application, there is no implementation redundancy between the installed desktop version, which is also offline executable, and the online-client-server version, which is runnable by using a standard browser.
