The modular fixture design experiment plays an important role in students' understanding and mastering the design principle and application knowledge of machine tool fixtures. Based on the virtual reality development engine Unity, taking the c# language script programming to realize virtual disassembly and assembly, calling MySQL commands to realize information management as the technical route, and combined with the laboratory field operation, this paper develops an experimental teaching platform combining virtual simulation experiment and field experiment, which effectively solves the problems of insufficient sets of experimental equipment, limited experimental time and space, It provides a complete experimental teaching environment of “combination of virtual and reality” and “mutual promotion of virtual and reality” to stimulate students’ creativity. Taking the piston drilling process as an example, this paper also introduces the ideas and methods of innovative and diverse design experiments of combined fixture closely combined with the technological process.
