The article features the web software application Ajax. Software designer Jesse James Garrett chose the "Ajax" term to describe a set of dynamic web applications based on several interoperating technologies. "AJAX" is an acronym which means "Asynchronous JavaScript+CSS+DOM+XMLHttpRequest." The technologies used include the Javascript and DHTML to let applications respond to mouseclicks. DOM is also used to let the applications manipulate the display. HMLHttpRequest may be performed to let the browser and the server to communicate without having to refresh the page.
