The article reports on the comparison between the Yahoo User Interface Library (YUI) from Yahoo Inc. and the Google WebToolkit (GWT) from Google Inc. involving the Asynchronous JavaScript and XML Web pages creation. The YUI is a collection of JavaScript utilities and controls which has been licensed under BSD for HTML pages construction. On the other hand, GWT is a development framework by Java which has opening source and protected binary components, containing HTML and JavaScript for Web pages generation. The YUI caters JavaScript a Cascading Style Sheet and HTML components through a text editor, however, the GWT caters tools for Web pages generation from Java programs.
