A study conducted by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine examined the performance and structures of national immunization programs in five middle-income Southeast Asian countries: Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and Myanmar. The study analyzed how different program structures related to differences in program performance and identified effective strategies. The study found that Malaysia and Thailand maintained high immunization coverage, while Vietnam and Myanmar achieved 80-90% coverage for most routine vaccines. The Philippines, however, had not reached 90% coverage since 2010. Donor support, innovative financing, and domestic vaccine manufacturing were identified as important factors in efficient immunization delivery. [Extracted from the article]
