The development of entrepreneurship-based web application studies has gained significant attention in recent years. This review aims to determine literature studies related to the roles, the development of type-based web applications and entrepreneurship, and the perspectives of web application research in entrepreneurship on the global scene. This systematic literature review was carried out using the PRISMA protocol based on the Scopus database and Gioia thematic analysis. Therefore, this paper underscored the pivotal roles of web applications in entrepreneurship, such as innovation and efficiency, collaboration and learning, ensuring security and market strategies, and data management and recommendations. Moreover, the development of web application types was revealed to adopt a comprehensive approach encompassing gamification, crowdsourcing, sentiment analysis, and user feedback to create dynamic, user-centric digital solutions that promote online success and spur innovation. This research based on perspective and research gaps analysis suggests a significant research opportunity on micro, meso and macro levels to investigate the web applications implementation of static, single-page, multi-page, e-commerce, javascript-powered, rich internet, and portal related to the entrepreneurship activities area.
