Poverty is a problem that cannot be separated from society, especially farmers and breeders. Year 2015-2021, the profession of breeders has experienced a decrease in the poverty rate but this decline not optimal because the poverty rate for breeders is always above the number national poverty. This can be influenced by several things such as growth population, economic growth, education, and unemployment. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of economic growth and population toward the welfare of beef cattle breeders in West Java Province, Indonesia with a focus on 4 (four) districts which are centers of smallholder livestock, namely Subang, Purwakarta, Bogor and Sukabumi. This research method uses a quantitative approach that analyzes numerical data processed by statistical methods and literature study. It is related to macroeconomic indicators, namely the population and welfare of breeders. Secondary data was obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of West Java, the Food Security and Livestock Service Office of West Java Province where it oversees Animal Husbandry and Health Functions for Subang, Purwakarta, Bogor and Sukabumi Regencies, as well as rom related journals and articles. Data analysis used multiple regression analysis techniques. The results showed that there was a significant influence between economic growth and population toward the welfare of breeders in West Java Province, Inodonesia. This research shows that the welfare of smallholder breeders is influenced by economic growth and population. The higher the economic growth and population of an area, the higher the level of welfare of breeders in that area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
