The article reports that Information Builders (IBI) Inc. will extend its alliance with Google Inc. and create more ties with Microsoft Corp. desktop tools. The company plans to integrate its iWay integration and adapter software with the Google Search Appliance. The company is focusing on WebFocus search logic capabilities which will allow users to extract business intelligence (BI) from messages and transactional data. Some of the partners of Google include Cisco and Oracle. David Sandel, WebFocus group vice president and general manager of IBI says that every corporate citizen is potentially a BI user. In June IBI is planning to launch Power Painter that will allow users to create reports in a thin client environment using Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. Power Painter is more user-friendly and intuitive. The company will also launch Electronic Publishing for WebFocus in June, a middleware that helps users to drop BI data collected from WebFocus directly into Microsoft tools. Google is the most highly recognized interface.
