The article provides information on two Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science (CS) computer courses in the U.S. These courses are CS A and CS AB. It is noted that CS AB course is more advanced than CS A because its coverage of various topics is more extensive. It is observed that CS A course is a subset of the course material of CS AB and it is aimed to be the equivalent of a university-level first-semester course in computer science. It is suggested that even those students who are not planning to major in computer sciences can opt for CS A because it emphasizes problem-solving skills using Java. It is observed that this advanced placement course in computer science could be the answer to the call of President George W. Bush to include more AP course offerings in science.
