Summary: For a closed densely defined operator on a Banach space, a criterion for the completeness of the set of all its entire vectors of exponential type in this space is given. As a corollary, a criterion for the completeness of the set of all root vectors of the operator under consideration is deduced in the case where this operator has a meromorphic resolvent.
