The problem of solving a system of nonlinear equations is reduced to a minimization problem. A sequential algorithm for optimization based on the number-theoretic method is proposed. Two problems are discussed in detail: the problem of finding out a representative point of a continuous invariant distribution and a fixed point of a continuous mapping of a closed bounded domain into itself.
