The authors study in some depth the basis \(H\)-function of two variables which is defined by the double Mellin-Barnes type contour integral whose kernel involves products of \(q\)-gamma functions [\textit{Nguyen Thanh Hai}, Izv. Akad. Belarusi SSR Ser. Fiz.-Mat. Nauk 1992, No. 1, 25--31 (1992; Zbl 0769.33009)]. The results proved in the paper relate to obtaining sufficient convergence conditions and integral and contiguous relations. Particular examples are also mentioned.
