\textit{B. C. Carlson} [Special functions of applied mathematics (1977; Zbl 0394.33001)] has obtained the Dirichlet averages of elementary functions \(x^ t,e^ t,\dots\) with respect to a Dirichlet measure which turns out nearly all special functions. Recently, \textit{S. C. Gupta} and the reviewer [J. Indian Acad. Math. 12, 103-115 (1990; Zbl 0722.33010); Ganita Sandesh 5, No. 1, 47-53 (1991)] have shown that this approach (single and double) is equivalent to fractional derivatives which can be transformed to hypergeometric functions and Appell functions. In the present paper this study is extended for triple averages.
