Undoubtedly, some of the most important evidence in criminal proceedings is personal evidence. It is the questioning of the accused, or the testimony of witnesses, that largely helps the judicial authorities in resolving a given case. In the modern world, however, we can see a significant increase in computerization permeating many areas of social life. Its development was certainly accelerated by the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic. The introduction of computerization into civil proceedings, which are based largely based on physical evidence certainly does not pose as many problems as its introduction into criminal proceedings, which rely in particular on personal evidence. This study aims not only to show the elements of computerization that have already been implemented in the pages of criminal proceedings, but will also include an assessment of further opportunities for the development of computerization within these proceedings. The article focuses on showing both positive effects and negative consequences of further computerization of the criminal process, taking into account the aspect of conducting personal evidence. This article is primarily intended to signal the need for the reader to consider whether the further development of computerization of the criminal process will bring to society, more positive effects or negative consequences.
