Despite the great advancements in the accessibility of educational tools for teaching programming and computer science over the last decades, most of these tools attempt to adapt the programming process to better suit learning by utilizing languages and platforms that are not used in industrial settings (with the notable exception of Python) – Basic, Pascal, Logo and Scratch are some of the applicable examples of programming languages with proven educational value that nevertheless fail to see application in the development of commercial, scientific or government software.
