Result: Integrating Task-Based Language Teaching with Computational Tools: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Enhancing Language Proficiency and Communicative Skills
Further Information
In the evolving landscape of language education, Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) has emerged as a pivotal methodology for fostering language proficiency and communicative competence. This article examines the integration of TBLT with computational tools, exploring its effectiveness in enhancing language learning outcomes. Leveraging the interdisciplinary fields of linguistics and computer science, we delve into how natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) technologies can augment traditional TBLT approaches. Through a mixed-methods research design, we analyze empirical data collected from diverse language learning settings, incorporating computational analyses to assess task performance and language development. Our findings reveal that computational tools not only provide nuanced insights into the intricacies of language acquisition but also offer innovative means to tailor tasks to individual learner profiles, thereby significantly improving both linguistic proficiency and communicative skills. The study contributes to the broader discourse on the fusion of educational technology and language teaching methodologies, proposing a forward-looking perspective on the role of computational tools in crafting more effective, personalized language learning experiences. Through a methodical examination involving diverse participants, this study demonstrates the profound benefits of regular interaction with Duolingo Bots. It was found that learners not only exhibited a measurable improvement in their linguistic skills but also a notable increase in confidence levels regarding language use in communicative contexts. This article calls for a paradigm shift in language education, advocating for a more integrated approach that harnesses the potential of computational technologies to enhance the pedagogical effectiveness of TBLT and equip learners with the communicative competencies required in a globalized digital world.
