Further Information
The Tikhonov regularization parameter ensuring convergence to an exact solution is frequently a root of an equation with a monotonic function. A procedure is proposed for estimating the roots of such equations. The procedure yields sufficiently accurate roots without computing any derivatives, when the latter are absent, and allows one to reduce the amount of computations.
