Further Information

The paper deals with circuits including bipolar transistors represented by the Ebers-Moll model with idealized diodes. The basic problem of finding all the DC solutions is considered and a combinatorial method is applied. The main achievement of the paper are two procedures enabling us to discard a huge number of combinations of the diodes states immediately, without any solving of equations, or by performing a considerably reduced amount of computation. The method guarantees finding all the DC solutions of the idealized transistor circuit. Next each of the obtained solutions is corrected using the Gummel-Poon transistor model, with exponential nonlinearities, by means of a controlled SPICE simulation. Two numerical examples of realistic transistor circuits are presented showing the effectiveness of the proposed method.
