MARC Format for Holdings Data (MFHD) has been around for many years and only recently has OCLC been able to accept MARC formatted data in the form of Local Holdings Records (LHRs). The panel presented their experiences with holdings conversion projects from differertt local library systems and the migration of existing MARC formatted data from one integrated library system to another. Each addressed the reasons for using MARC holdings and their expected benefits and outcomes. They provided an overview of their projects from planning to actual conversion, their discovery of unexpected issues, the lessons they learned and what they might do differently the next time.
