Cet article traite de la place des représentations sociales relatives aux animaux dans la recherche sur les interactions avec l'animal à but thérapeutique. Après avoir été intégrées de manière implicite, ces représentations ont été occultées par des centaines de recherches, avant de faire leur retour récent. M'appuyant sur un travail bibliographique, dans une démarche de sociologie des sciences, j'essaie de comprendre les raisons de cet itinéraire, en le reliant au contexte de ces recherches.
