The aim of the GRAAL project is to develop new systems to process text information, allowing in particular to develop computer-aide translation, knowledge extraction and automatic text indexin systems. The projectr is organized as a co-operation between experts in linguistic enginnering and large users of multilingual documentation. Ther project is based on real applications , aims at developing short-rerm results and wishes to prove the economical as well as the theoretical interest of a modular and generc approch to build linguistic tools.
