The paper describes the design and implementation of TACHIR, a prototype tool for the automatic construction of hypertexts for information Retrieval. TACHIR buids up automaticaly an IR hypertext, a hypertext to be used for information retrieval, from a document collection, using a methodology that makes use of a set of well known Information Retrieval techniques. The structure of the IR hypertext reflects a three levels conceptual model, where it is possible to navigate among documents, index terms, and concepts using dynamically determined links. The prototype tool is implemented on top of the Mosaic Interface for World Wide Web and the structure of the hypertext is specified using the hypertext markup language (HTML).
