The InfoCrystalTM can be used both as a visualization tool and a visual query language to help users search for information. It enables users to make use of the expressive power of the Exact Matching approach and its broadening/narrowing techniques in an easy-to-use and visual way. Further, it is shown how the Partial Matching approach can be visualized in the same visual framework. Hence, the InfoCrystal allows users to specify Exact as well as Partial can be created by using the InfoCrystals as building blocks and organizing them in a hierarchical structure. The InfoCrystal enables users to explore and filter information in a flexible, dynamic and interactive way.
