The paper deals with the problem of providing users with information on optimal environmental protection means that guarantees safe stay in a given region. Problem statement of choosing optimal environmental protection means is given. A method to receive safety recommendations for general public based on information regarding available protection means, known thresholds of harmful emissions and hazardous substances impact on humans and environmental situation in a given region is considered.
