The 2024 spring issue of the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education (DSJIE) features an empirical article on the challenges of teaching computer programming in the era of generative artificial intelligence (AI) using large language models (LLM). The article presents a research study that assessed ChatGPT's ability to complete homework assignments in an introductory Python programming course. The results showed that ChatGPT had lower scores on average compared to human students, but it was not always possible to detect code produced by ChatGPT. The article also includes teaching briefs on virtual presentations, ethics in supply chain management, and location planning, providing practical exercises and projects for educators in these areas.
