Treffer: Using Ajax to Empower Dynamic Searching.

The article discusses the use of Asynchronous JavaScript + XML (Ajax), which can result in web applications that demonstrate the flexibility, responsiveness, and usability traditionally found in desktop software. To illustrate Ajax, a repository metasearch user interface, OJAX has been developed. OJAX demonstrates that Ajax can enable features in Web applications that have been restricted to desktop application. OJAX simplifies a simple, nonthreatening, but powerful search user interface. However, Ajak is still maturing, it is important that its focus does not become the enabling of cool features but remains the optimization of the user experience. Reusable, well-tested components and software frameworks will help make Ajax technology accessible to a wider range of developers.
