The article focuses on the development of a Web-based journal Table of Contents (TOC) distribution system by Montana State University (MSU) Libraries that enabled the delivery of journal articles to users' desktops. The system uses the common Extensible Markup Language (XML) feed formats Atom and Really Simple Syndication (RSS), the Google AJAX Feed Application Programming Interface (API) and some JavaScript working within the Ajax framework to deliver targeted journal content to users as a series of Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML) pages. MSU Libraries is looking at ways of aggregating the disparate source feeds into master feeds.
